Charitable Flights Enable Woman to Receive Life-Changing Care

Woman suffering from blood clotting disorder after she accessed care, thanks to charitable flights

Looking for Answers

Natasha was diagnosed with a rare blood clotting disorder nine years ago. It makes it difficult for her to breathe and causes chest pain, in addition to forming blood clots in her heart and lungs.

"I'm in search of answers," said Natasha. Her quest for answers - and treatment - has continued to this day.

From Battle...

Natasha's regular doctors couldn't help her. They said she had to see someone who specialized in blood clotting disorders and referred her out.

There was just one problem. The blood clot disorder specialist Natasha was referred to had their practice in Austin, Texas. That's more than 979 miles away from her hometown in Illinois. Travel costs were prohibitively expensive, as Natasha has been out of work. Medical bills had all but drained her limited savings. How would she access the care she needed?

...To Brightness

That was when Natasha found out about Mercy Medical Angels. Through a partnership with the Hogan Family Foundation, Mercy Medical Angels paid for and arranged charitable flights on commercial airlines.

Natasha said, "The flight was great! Mercy Medical Angels made my trip less worrisome with their assistance." With her worries relieved, she was able to focus on her medical appointments with the specialist.  Things were starting to get brighter.

"It's Not Every Day..."

When asked how Mercy Medical Angels and the Hogan Family Foundation helped her, Natasha's answer spills over the brim with gratitude. "It's not every day people help you in this way, like Mercy Medical Angels does. They made my visit much less stressful."

"I want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
