Veteran Finds Healing, Thanks to Charitable Flights

Veteran during Heroes and Horses healing retreat, accessed thanks to charitable flights

Battle in the Mind

Adam is a Veteran of the Army. When he got home from combat, his experiences continued to affect him. He sought medical help, and found out he had PTSD. The doctor recommended that Adam should attend a healing retreat - one that would help put the battle in his mind to rest.

Facing Obstacles...

Not one to give up on his health, Adam dove into research. He found out about Heroes and Horses in Montana, and applied. He heard back promptly - his application had been approved! But an obstacle jumped in Adam's path. He lives in Nebraska - more than 820 miles away from Heroes and Horses. He didn't have enough saved up for a round-trip flight. How would he find healing?

...And Overcoming Them

That was when Adam found out about Mercy Medical Angels. He applied for transportation assistance and was approved. Now, he could get past the barrier of distance.  And with that obstacle overcome, nothing else stood between him and his journey towards healing.

"In One Word.."

Now, Adam is home once again. He's using the coping skills he learned at Heroes and Horses and on his way to a better life. He also credits Mercy Medical Angels with getting him there in the first place.

"In one word," he said, "Mercy Medical Angels is great! My quality of life has improved, because of the charitable flight assistance. I guess all I have left to say is this: thank you for changing my life!"
