Stories from Grateful Patients: Ka'Laia

Child with multiple diagnoses after receiving treatment thanks to charitable gas cards

In Her Family's Words...

“My daughter, Ka'Laia, has to go to see her neurologist for her monthly medication review. She has Tourette syndrome and other diagnoses. There are other appointments she needs to attemd, some of which take a three-hour drive to get there.”

“I’ve been on medical leave from my job since March, and my parents can’t work either. We are struggling to make ends meet with little income. Driving back and forth for all the appointments is taking a toll on our finances. But if we don’t go, Ka’Laia’s physical and behavioral health will decline.”

“Mercy Medical Angels sent us gas cards so that we could drive Ka’Laia to her appointments. Knowing that we can get there has been a huge weight off everyone’s shoulders. It’s a lot less stressful now. We are beyond grateful for those who donate to Mercy Medical Angels, so that they can help families in need. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you!”

~Paula (Ka’Laia’s mother)
