Patient with lymphedema and cancer after accessing treatment

In Her Own Words...

"I used to work in the healthcare field. After many years, my health couldn't handle it anymore. I was in and out of the hospital, needing blood transfusions because I was in chronic iron deficiency. Then, I noticed I was retaining fluid in my legs, arms, and feet. The doctors put me on a medication that was supposed to help, but my health just got worse. I got COPD from multiple bouts with bronchitis and pneumonia. Finally, I was diagnosed with lymphedema and breast cancer."

"The doctors referred me to a clinic that specializes in lymphedema. They took me off the medication, and have been working to drain the excess fluid. They also work with my oncologists. I go to this clinic twice a week. But driving back and forth is costly. It's stressful trying to figure out where I'll find money to put gas in my car."

"Mercy Medical Angels sent me gas cards so I could drive to the clinic. The gas cards are a blessing. I truly appreciate knowing that I have this assistance. It's helping me stay financially stable, and improving my quality of life. Honestly, Mercy Medical Angels has helped me so much!"
