Patient with renal failure and other conditions after driving to care, thanks to charitable gas cards

Dealing with Renal Failure

Jose has been dealing with later stages of renal failure since he was 40. Since then, he has also faced multiple other health problems, including two major heart attacks.

"I have been hospitalized more than 60 times," said Jose.

Rough Roads...

After yet another hospital stay, Jose's doctors told him he would need to go on dialysis. The best dialysis center was 2 hours away. Making matters worse, Jose's disability payments were discontinued.

Having to choose between living expenses and life-saving medical treatments was an impossible choice for Jose. No matter which way he turned, his journey was on rough roads. How would he get to the care he needed?

...Become Smooth

That was when Jose found out about Mercy Medical Angels and their ground transportation program. Mercy Medical Angels sent Jose gas cards. With the financial assistance, a family member could drive him to dialysis.

Jose no longer had to worry about the costs of traveling a long distance for medical care. He could put his focus where it mattered most - improving his health and quality of life.

"The Gas Cards Really Help..."

Jose still has a long journey ahead of him. But he doesn't have to go on it alone. Thanks to Mercy Medical Angels' charitable ground transportation program, Jose can rest assured that he has the help he needs.

"The gas cards really help," said Jose. "I couldn't have accessed the care I needed if it weren't for Mercy Medical Angels."

"Everyone at Mercy Medical Angels is so responsive, and happy to assist me in my time of need. I can't say 'thank you' enough times!"
