Update from Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic volunteer pilot, Warren Ludlam pictured here with pilot, Eric Perdew.
On October 1, 2018 Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic Mission #6116 was flown into Lumberton, NC.
From Mercy Medical Angels, Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic Volunteer Pilot Warren Ludlam:Above is a photo of Eric and me from today’s flights down to Lumberton, NC, in the hurricane flood zone of southeast North Carolina. We delivered a big variety of medical supplies: diabetic supplies (syringes + insulin), antibiotics, zinc cream, Epipens, bandages, stethoscopes, saline, first aid supplies, tourniquets, splints, diapers, wipes, baby formula, bottles, nipples, pediatric pain reliever, hand sanitizer, and all sorts of other supplies. The supplies were donated by Cone Health (the Greensboro area’s big medical center for north central NC), and the Greensboro Rotary Club is donating the cost of the fuel used by the club’s Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic team. The manager of the FBO in Lumberton, NC (FBO is an organization granted the right to operate at the airport) told us that, even though the flood waters are starting to recede, the citizens there are now moving into the phase of having to deal with the mold and bacteria, and needing to gut their homes to clean up and start rebuilding. Many people will be displaced for the next 6-12 months into shelters and have to rely on the Lumberton county health department and the 16 area medical clinics which are in dire need of medical supplies and will get what we delivered.Mercy Medical Angels is still collecting much needed supplies. Our Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic program is delivering collected supplies daily through our dedicated volunteer pilots. If you would like to set up a collection in your community, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We have volunteer pilots in your area to deliver the supplies. The need based items list is updated weekly to ensure we are getting the items needed most to these areas. From Our Mercy Medical Angels Family to Yours, Thank you for your support!!
