Living with Multiple Conditions

“My story is a long and arduous one. It’s impossible to explain all of the ailments I’ve had over the past five years.”

So begins Rosemarie’s story. From 2018 until now, she has dealt with multiple conditions. From a brain tumor to back pain, from Crohn’s disease to Colitis, Rosemarie couldn’t rest.

Many Questions, Not Enough Answers

Rosemarie tried her hardest to find answers to her health problems. She lives in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where there aren’t any doctors who specialize in her specific issues. This meant she had to drive at least five hours in almost all directions, trying to find a doctor who could help.

Even when Rosemarie managed to find specialists, their answers were often conflicting. That is, if they even had answers.  “Doctors kept telling me different things,” said Rosemarie, “and I didn’t know what to do.”

Tired from Travels

After many exhausting drives, Rosemarie decided to travel by other means. She had money saved up for emergencies. But over the span of two years, her account was empty. And her health was only getting worse.

“I can’t eat much anymore,” said Rosemarie, “as my stomach won’t tolerate it with Crohn’s.” Her back pain was severe, and the mass in her brain was growing. “I just wanted to be able to function without pain.”

Clock's Running Out...

Rosemarie’s best shot at a better life soon presented itself. There were five specialists at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

But there was one problem: Mayo Clinic was almost 900 miles away from her home. The clock was running out. How could Rosemarie access the care she needed?

...Charitable Flights Reset It

In such dire situations, some people would pray for aid from angels. This aid flew to Rosemarie from a different kind of angels – Mercy Medical Angels!

Mercy Medical Angels arranged charitable flights for Rosemarie on American Airlines. “My travel experience was pleasant,” said Rosemarie.

Once at Mayo Clinic, Rosemarie finally received consistent answers and the treatment she needed. The specialists also performed brain surgery to remove the tumor. She was on her way to a better life.

"You Showed So Much Kindness..."

Rosemarie’s quality of life has dramatically improved since receiving treatment at Mayo Clinic. She thanks Mercy Medical Angels for making it all possible.

“I wouldn’t have been able to access the care I needed if it weren’t for the charitable flights,” said Rosemarie. But she doesn’t stop there. She continues to thank Mercy Medical Angels, pure gratitude and relief spilling over from every word.

“You showed so much kindness in this difficult time. I can’t thank you enough!”
