Rebel-Jade lives in Kentucky with her family. One day, an accident inflicted severe burns down her chest. Her parents had to take off work for a week in order to care for her. “My daughter was in a lot of pain,” said Brittany, Rebel-Jade’s mother.

The best doctors to help Rebel-Jade were in Nashville, Tennessee. Driving would take almost five hours, and Brittany couldn’t afford the cost of gas. Worse, because of the severe burns, Rebel-Jade couldn’t be buckled into a car seat. How would Rebel-Jade get the treatment she needed?

At the hospital, Rebel-Jade was placed in a special cast for severe burns. It stretched from her neck to her belly button. This would allow her to heal more effectively.
Just before Rebel-Jade and Brittany could head home, a snowstorm hit. It wouldn’t be safe to fly back. Mercy Medical Angels reached out once more, sending a gas card so they could drive home without worrying about gas prices.
